Day 4 : Sapporo / Furano / Biei / Sapporo (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Furano and Biei are two towns in the center of Hokkaido, known for their pleasant and picturesque rural landscapes. The best time to visit is July and August, when many lavender fields are in bloom. During winter, the region turns into a popular downhill and cross country skiing resort. Biei is a small town surrounded by a beautiful hilly landscape. One of the most pleasant ways to enjoy the charm of the rural region is by walking, cycling or driving through the hills and along the fields. For easier orientation, the area south of the town center has been named "Panorama Road" and the area northwest of the town center "Patchwork Road". The English language tourist brochure introduces recommended courses. Along the roads, there are various observation points, flower parks and some handsome trees and tree groups, which have gained fame through (mainly tobacco related) advertising appearances.

Day 5 : Sapporo / Otaru / Sapporo (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Visit the Odori Park ~ running east and west through downtown and perhaps one of Japan's liveliest and most charming boulevards. Visit the Tokei-dai (clock tower). We will proceed to the renowned Asahi Beer factory. Enjoy a short drive to Otaru, a port town that gained the nickname "Wall Street of the North" due to the rows of old stone buildings built in the past. Enjoy a leisurely walk along the Otaru Canal ~ entirely lit up by gas lamplights at night which evokes a nostalgic mood. Otaru is also famous for its music box store displaying hundreds of orgels, big and small; some dating back to the late 19th century. Within walking distance is the Kitaichi glasswork shop, stone warehouse converted coffee shops, restaurants and souvenir shops. We will visit the Ishiya Chocolate factory ~ founded in 1947 and well known for its delicious white chocolate.
